Carol McFadden

Carol McFadden is an independent contractor to MDA Consulting, Inc. Her area of expertise is market research and analysis. She recruits and maintains a panel of medical directors from large US health insurance companies, including HMOs, other types of managed care organizations, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and commercial payers. She also has experience interviewing managed care pharmacy directors as well as officials who make policy for Medicaid managed care plans. When projects require it, Carol interviews officials in State Medicaid agencies and professional staff in Medicare local carriers as well as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) central office in Baltimore, Maryland.

Carol frequently designs reimbursement questionnaires on behalf consulting clients and prepares in-depth research reports with a summary of interview findings and interpretation of results. In addition, Carol conducts market research projects, primarily involving one-on-one interviews with physicians and other health professionals to discern their interest in and reaction to new medical product concepts.

For the last 20 years Carol has been actively engaged in marketing and strategic planning in the health care field on both a full time and consulting basis. She has assisted with numerous projects in market research and analysis at Covance Health Economics and Outcomes Services, Inc. as well as working with their reimbursement support program. Additionally, at Lewin and Associates and Friesen International, Inc., she participated in strategic planning and organizational/management analysis for hospitals, community health centers and home care companies.

Before working in the consulting field Carol had increasingly responsible positions in clinical, research and administrative nursing and hospital administration including five years as VP for Nursing Services in a large suburban hospital. She graduated from the University of Evansville with a BS in Nursing and received a Masters in Health Services Administration from George Washington University.
